Stop the ban on event shelters at Green Man

My god! You are soo right! We are die-hards and can feel the vibe/nature changing each year! Our kids are a bit older now so we’ve gone from b-sitting them under the gazebo to enjoying late night communes with them! Wouldn’t happen if we had to re-locate to a shared public area☹️

I’ve been to nine Green Men, never used a gazebo & never will. I tend to go with a pal or two and we will just sit in our tents if it’s wet in the morning or evening. Having read the comments from others, I can really see why such a shelter is important for families and larger groups though. I don’t think they should be banned. It seems a dubious decision that goes against the open-minded benevolence that drew me to the festival in the first place.

Need shelter for children, either rain or sunshine.

All seems like a bit of a cynical move GM - we were amongst the last leavers this year (our 5th) and there certainly weren't loads of rogue gazebos blowing round the place. I know from experience of this and other festivals that cheap one or two-person tents are a much bigger problem in terms of abandonment, so are they on your list too, or is this a way of packing more people in?

How will we get together out of the rson back at our base camp with out a gazebo? We are a big group. Many of us only meet up at greenmsn once a year. Without a gazebo we will be resigned to our individual tents when it rains. We are responsible and our gazebo has lots of life in it yet so we wont be throwing it away any time soon. Why should we have a gathering ruined . Completely against the ban.

The recycling excuse looks very implausible, and if a gazebo is shared by many tents - as ours is - it's taking very little extra space relative to the number of people

You just cannot camp for a week with kids without a shelter. It rains. You need to cook!

Our event shelters are an integral part of the GM experience for the 15 or so of us that camp together

We need them for when it rains - we promise to take them home !

Shelters ensure that there is somewhere dry or out of the sun. This is especially important with children or people that find walking to and from the festival difficult for whatever reason. The event shelter that we had as part of our group was a life saver in terms of morale. It mean the that we could eat together and play games despite the rain. It also meant that we adults could sit with each other in the evening whilstbthe children slept instead of individually sheltering in our tents. This needs to be readdressed in terms of how it limits families.

Absolutely ridiculous to ban gazebos and shelters - have you ever tried camping with little ones? Please reconsider, or you'll change the nature of this great festival!

Gazebos are not abandoned at Green Man. A family festival being ruined by this decision!

Staying in the Welsh mountains for a week with young children is very uncomfortable without shelter. If you want us to spend a week on site surely you need to allow us space to cook under shelter when it rains or is very hot?

Greenman wouldn’t be the same without a breakfast meeting under the shelter to plan our day and an evening debrief.

I've never seen any abandoned Gazebos at Greenman, in fact i've not seen anything left behind or abandoned..

Short sighted decision which alienates a massive cross-section of your audience. Think again Green Man, you're ruining the experience of many because of the selfish actions of a few (if the environmental concerns are the real reason).

If it rains, it's not safe to cook in a tent. Much safer to cook under a gazebo. I was at Trowbridge festival where a man died after gas fumes ignited in his tent. This is a health and safety issue.

Due to the weather conditions in the beacon beacons at that time of year a gazebo is necessary for shade or shelter.

We need our shelters! It's Wales don't you know & it rains a lot.

Event shelters are essential and banning them makes no sense in a family orientated festival
