1) Ms. Stevenson is asking to appeal Judge Bennett’s decision to the Michigan Court of Appeals…. The exact same Court of Appeals that Judge Bennett used a prior opinion from the Court to make his decision to have these signatures added back to the approved signature count.
2) Judge Bennett, during the hearing itself, quoted from Michigan election law statutes that stated that the clerk was to only compare signatures to signature records on file and to only compare address’ as a method to verify the signature…nowhere in that statute does it mention that the Clerk can throw out signatures because he/ she believes that someone else may have written in the address and/or other information.
3) 21 of the 23 signatures had to do with Ms. Stevenson’s opinion that someone else may have written in address’ and other information on the petition. Judge Bennett made it a point to ask Ms. Stevenson if the signatures were all ok..her response was yes they were verified…I am actually unaware that a single signature ,in the over 1600 presented, was thrown out for not matching election records… It is my opinion, the over 1600 people that signed wanted Ms. Christian’s recall election to move forward… and obviously Judge Bennett felt that the law and a prior Appeals Court opinion on the matter were quite clear in rendering his ultimate decision. I was there and it was clear to me that the Judge had done significant research prior to issuing his decision…
4) The “law” was clear on the matter according to Judge Bennett, what was “somewhat” confusing the issue was the language on the reverse of the petition… It did say that the person signing was to complete all info themselves… although Ms. Stevenson may believe that it was obvious these 21 “verified signers” may not have filled in the rest of the information themselves, the law does not allow her to be a handwriting analyst in regards to other information…
Please sign this petition to let the Roscommon County Clerk, Michelle Stevenson know that you do not want her to appeal Judge Bennetts' decision, and that you do not want $5000-$10,000 in tax dollars spent this way!

The sheer number of people joining this fight proves that Stevenson cannot hide behind these pathetic legal loopholes anymore. This momentum shows that the public sees exactly what she is doing to block a fair recall election. We are forcing her to acknowledge the truth.

This situation is dragging out beyond all means of imagination. ENOUGH already.
I strongly oppose Michelle Stevensen appealing Judge Bennett's decision of the recall petition for Kelly Christian. Her appeal is a total waste of taxpayer money.
Waste of money. You are saying the judges is wrong. What kind of message is that stating? 1600 signatures and you are worried about 20 something.
Ms. Stevenson, please do not appeal. There are over 1,600 voters that want the right to recall Ms. Christian.
I find it to be utterly ridiculous that this process is even allowed. I can't help but think it has something to do with the fact that Mrs Christians husband works for one of the counties township offices and being a small town sometimes it's all about who you are and not what you actually do!

It just shows me that the County Clerk does Not Trust he Same Counties Circuit Court Judges Decision, And if the County Commissioner Gave her the " Go Ahead" somebody had to, They Do Not Rust Their own Circuit Court Judge Either. Its a Shame the Dire Straits this County is in. All Elected Roscommon County Officials are like the "Gambino Crime Family"

Mrs Stevenson made a decision to not accept certain signatures. A judge has allowed them. Enough already. Let the community decide in an election.
