STOP THE ACCESS
Whereas the British Woods Neighborhood is a long-established Greensboro neighborhood; and whereas the residents of the British Woods neighborhood have long enjoyed a quiet and peaceful residential neighborhood where neighbors can gather and enjoy the neighborhood and children can gather and play; and whereas the residents of the British Woods Neighborhood should be protected from the proposed commercial intrusion so as to provide for the safety of children playing in the neighborhood, to guard against the wear and tear on our residential streets that are not designed for this proposed additional traffic, including construction vehicles and then maintenance vehicles, and to continue the low level of crime in the neighborhood, which could foreseeably increase with the proposed addition vehicular and pedestrian access.
Therefore, we the residents of the British Woods neighborhood, respectfully request the City of Greensboro Planning and Zoning Commission to apply conditions to the Zoning request Z-21-08-004 to restrict any direct access by the proposed development into the British Woods neighborhood. We respectfully request the commercial property be permanently detached from the residential neighborhood by whatever means necessary – such as using berms, fencing, trees and vegetation, etc. including, but not limited to, the following:
- No using access from Tennyson Drive as a construction entrance to develop the property
- No road access for vehicle traffic from Tennyson Drive into British Woods
- No walk-way access from the rear of the commercial property into British Woods
- No access of any kind directly into the British Woods Neighborhood from the proposed commercial project.
A prior request to access into the British Woods neighborhood from New Garden was heard by the Commission and was rejected. We respectively request this commercial property likewise being unable to have any direct access into the British Woods neighborhood.
