The Qatar World Cup is a detriment to the game and it's fans. People should not be dying in order to make a stadiums in a smaller country when other countries are financially ready and have the stadiums to use.

I concur with the reasoning, many people die unnecessarily, just like in Brazil. The World Cup could easily be held in a competent nation that has the facilities such as the UK, Italy, or the USA.

It's interesting, and quite frankly sickening, that such a wealthy country refuses to provide the proper working conditions for their workers. Change has to happen. Happy to see awareness being raised.

All the slavery and thousands of people killed in preparation for this tournament is absolutely immoral and tragic. It was shady enough for Qatar was even awarded the 2022 WC in the first place; thank god Sepp Blatter was (finally) suspended as president of FIFA. But FIFA still needs to take control of this situation and get it through their thick, capitalist heads that this is a human rights issue.

I have been hearing about this for a while now, conditions in Qatar have become fatal for the immigrant workers that are just trying to provide their families with life's basic necessities. With temperatures reaching the 120's on a normal day, along with the scarce water supply in Qatar's arid climate, FIFA is setting up a worldwide spectacle being paid for in human lives. Something must be done; this is not ancient Rome, where mere entertainment comes at the cost of human lives. Something. Must. Be. Done.

I believe this should be stopped due to the immigrant workers consistently dying for this & that FIFA can find a better solution or location.

I 100% agree that Oatar should not be involved with the 2020 World Cup. It isn't fair for immigrants to be controlled or build a huge stadium for the World Cup if they aren't stable themselves. These immigrant workers need to receive better conditions health wise and work on bettering Qatar as a whole before hosting huge event.

I'm so glad I learned about this. It seems ridiculous to me that this isn't a more talked about issue within human rights groups.
What a tragedy. Needs to be stopped
