The NYC Parks Department has done a fabulous job renovating the Tavern on the Green facility in many ways*, HOWEVER: the new ventilation systems emit a throbbing/pulsing low frequency noise 24 HOURS A DAY, disturbing the community in and around Central Park West and West 67th Street.

Low frequency noise detracts significantly from quality of life and is well documented as having adverse health impacts. The noise at Tavern is absolutely avoidable and results from poor design. Fixing this is a simple matter of turning off these fans at night and hiring the right consultants to eliminate the phase issue, which causes the pulsing. However, there has been no fix since the facility opened 6 months ago. Parks needs to take decisive action immediately to resolve this issue.
