Survey All Residents Before Spending Taxpayer Money

This is a major concern impacting ALL residents. We as a town should explore saving and spending as needed. This is a "want", not a necessity.

Since the Trumbull High like new renovation was a complete disaster and turned that building into an even bigger mess than before and by no means meets the needs of the students as far as space, flow , and updating, I hope the town puts some thought into this before making another mess.

This doesn't have to be a partisan issue. Architects are commonly hired after a site is selected. I don't see the harm in applying the allocated funds elsewhere.

Residents should be involved in the process all along the way! Stop this nonsense now. Listen to the people of this town who overwhelmingly do not want this!

The First Selectman just hired a new Director of Senior Services. Before he appropriates one more cent for seniors (of which I am one), he owes it to his constituents to await a recommendation from the director as to what the center's programming will be and the number of users she believes these programs will attract. Only then can we assess the real need and determine what the facility should look like. At the same time, it behooves the First Selectman to assure the School Administration that they will have the facility they need to operate without any slowdown or other impediment.

Listen to your residents that will end up paying for something they don't want! What about splash pads, pool renovations or playground renovations for the many young families in town?

Prioritize precious budget dollars. Education for children to want to live here when they have a family. Fix downtown. It's a mess of empty buildings. Invest in sidewalks to connect Nichols (unity road and white plains) so families can walk to get ice cream with their kids! Family un-friendly!

Trumbull resident who wonders if this center is really our next budget priority? How about investments that drive families to move to Trumbull?

Community input matters for a project of this caliber. The town needs to listen to the taxpayers and put the people first.

I am interested in hearing options for a community center and hope that more town input will be gathered before plans and budgets are finalized.

It seems most town members do not want a senior center or community center. We have gyms in Trumbull to take care of our exercise needs, as well as pools, parks and trails. Perhaps this money could be used to fix up existing gems of Trumbull that have become rundown or unused like the planetarium and pool. We need to invest money in maintaining what we have before looking to take on something we don't really want or need. It would be so awesome to have the planetarium back.

I like the fact that the town is showing initiative in developing a project for its people. however, I feel at this point is not informed enough by the entire voting population. The focus should be on community not just one portion of community.

It is a shame that the town government does not listen to the people on such as an important issue.

Probate Court should stay where it has been for the past 64years. Not at our senior Ctr.

We do not want the probate court at the center,and we do not want a new senior center.

This project is not the best use of funds in this town. I do not support the project as is, nor does my mother who is a senior in Trumbull

PROCESS MATTERS! An INCLUSIVE survey, assessment of COMMUNITY needs, PUBLIC meetings and THOROUGH discussions AHEAD of final decisions will serve us all BETTER in the long run.
