Ministry’s surprise proposal threatens natural heritage protections at the proposed waste processing complex in the Freele County Forest

How does it make sense to put an industrial scale composting site and waste transfer station on sensitive wetlands in an agricultural area?

Pristine forests, groundwater and surface water sources, wildlife, endangered and threatened species of animals and plants are but a few of the reasons why these sites should NOT be considered for the Organics Processing and Material Management Facilities.

NO DUMPSITES

Please stop this! Animals need a home too!

I am strongly against having this waste transfer and industrial scale composting sites in Springwater Township. Save our amazing environment and find another place more suitable!

In our community the local landfill, toxic waste & compost sites are on commercial property away from residences and farmland. I have visited the neighbourhood you are proposing for this site and can only imagine the environmental fallout & property values that will be negatively impacted by this decision.

There's got to be a better place to put a garbage dump than an unspoiled rural area.

I am a resident in close proximity to these sites. I also work near the Progressive Waste Solutions site in Barrie and can smell the foul smell of it most days (the wind often blows toward our subdivision from these sites). I hear the noise of the haul bins dropping on concrete and backup beepers constantly. The flock of seagulls above are sometimes outrageous. The proposed sites C270 and C136 should NOT the location for facilities like these. : (

I am sure we need a waste transfer site, but let's put it where it will do minimal, rather than maximum damage to our environment.

That is a nice parcel of farmland. Why would anyone want to make it into an industrial composting site? Not a good idea.

This is a threat to one of the purest aquifers in Canada. Rotting garbage is rotting garbage though it is "organic". Organic includes animal carcasses and feces.

Why would you not pick a former or close to end of life quarry, rather than farmland for such an industrial type of public use as a organic garbage. Surely something that could have such a bad environmental impact on neighboring property should be located where such impact is already resolved.

I have seen this property. NOT a suitable place for waste of any kind.

A waste facility does not belong amongst our beautiful forests, wetlands and wildlife.

As a new Springwater resident this proposal concerns me. Agricultural land is not for waste disposal.

as A resident of the area this proposal is incredibly disturbing to my family. How is this an ideal place to put waste when there are food producing farms in arms reach???

This location is not a suitable site for this type of facility

Protect our environmentally sensitive area.
