I think the schools SLT need to get together with parents, involve the students and discuss this issue before it gets out of hand. I'm sure the school did not want to cause this amount of upset and havent realized that the new scarf design is not suitable and doesn't meet the basic requirements. Please do not blow this matter out of context people, I think it is a genuine oversight from the school and this matter can be resolved if the school act efficiently over the next few days. It is a good school and I'm sure the majority of staff are caring and want the best for the students. I really hope the school manage to sort this issue out. This issue just shows what happens when people make decisions without consulting the people the decision is going to affect the most, in this case the students and their parents! Get it sorted please!

I don't agree to the new shower caps that SJT refer to as the new head scarfs why can't the girls wear the head scarfs that they have been wearing so far

This is really wrong you should not be allowed to define the way an individual dresses. I can not believe they will come as far to interfere with ones religion and relationship with god

I am student at sir John Thursby and I think that this is injustice . We wear our scarfs for modesty, our hijab is our hair to us so if we are stoped from wearing our hijab there is sense that there is a certain colour your hair should be and the length of your hair if the length of our scarf is being change .. This is racism and discrimination

School have the right to provide their own Head Scarf, it is also highly appreciated the fact that' they have introduced a Head Scarf but the school needs to consider the design and comfort element..
