Stop Signing VT Freshmen Sexual Assault Orientation Seminars
We believe that members of the Virginia Tech community should not be subjected to indoctrination camps known as sexual assault orientation seminars. Some misinformed, misguided individuals may wish you to believe that it is the responsibility of the university to inform its new students of their moral responsibility to stop perceived rape. More enlightened individuals, such as ourselves, recognize that this responsibility is actually incumbent upon the parents (or legal guardians) of those same potential students. We recognize that if you have been subjected to the "educational" influence of these proposed seminars then screams coming from the other room (or the tangle of limbs in the middle of the Drillfield) may seem to indicate a rape in progress. However, we also recognize that these screams most likely just indicate a good time that you should jump in on.
Our target number of signatures is 7: one for each of the recent sexual assault victims. We feel that this call is both attainable and contextually relevant.
