Stop Seattle From Turning Our Parks Into Homeless Encampments

I believe homelessness is Seattle's #1 issue but camping in our parks is a ridiculous answer and one that creates severe health and safety concerns for our community.

This is a violation of the trust citizens place in the City Council to protect and preserve our broader community. It has been proven to undermine the proper governance of a City and should not be replicated just because someone else is doing it. This Council has stood up for the individual but has lost sight of the overiding responsiblity to the community as a whole.

Good intention - regressive, counterproductive solution, especially when the police already has flexibility in how they enforce loitering laws AND we have clear precedence from Portland's experience. Adjust the guidelines, but do not tie the hands of enforcement agencies, and destroy the goodwill that housed citizens have towards their parks. Love you guys, but this is just the plain wrong way to go.

Seattle needs rent control for affordable apartments.

We have completely stopped going to Seattle as it is already looking like a Third World dump....can't imagine how much worse it will get if this nonsense passes.

This is absolutely unacceptable! I was born and raised in Seattle and I will not stand by and see our city overrun and ruined by homeless people.

I'm all for being compassionate- and finding places for homeless residents to camp in designated areas (e.g., parking lots, etc.); however, the plan to allow camping anywhere- and especially in forested parklands, is misguided. This will add cost, decrease safety, and drain resources that could better serve this population. I'm with Tim Burgess on this issue.

I do not believe this is the right solution to the problem.

I live in Rob Johnson's district with my family. I do not support this proposal.

Stop this nonsense Let the mayor's consultant develop and execute her plan.

This is not a solution to homelessness. We need to protect citizens, especially tax-paying citizens & businesses from this rampant crime & drug culture, not to mention the complete bio-hazard.

I strongly oppose the Mike O'Brien proposal for allowing homeless people to camp in public areas. It will make Seattle a mecca for all the homeless people in the Nowthwest and we do not have the services nor facilities to care for them.
