Stop Seattle From Turning Our Parks Into Homeless Encampments

Way too expensive, too great of possibility for additional crime. I don't like Burgess at all, but agree with on this issue.

This is a terrible idea. I have a son and I wouldn't feel safe to take him to the park where there would be homeless camping.

I find it unbelievable that our city would consider this ordinance. The disgusting display in our parks and sidewalks is a slap in the face to local residents. Imagine what visitors to our city will experience. Just look under our downtown freeways to get a glimpse of the future of downtown if this insane measure goes forward.

This needs to be prevented from passing. No revisions or trial periods. Unequivocally, no!!!

The public has spoken. Time to listen and wake-up City Council.

Camper contribute nothing. Many are there by choice usurping commerce and civility. It is a scourge. Sad, but they cannot ruin Seattle just for their convenience.

I believe that existing services, systems, and enforcement need to be vastly improved. I do not believe creating another regulation that may only enable this severe problem is wise at this point.

Allowing homeless people to camp in city parks is not the way to fix their problems, but would create many more issues for everyone.

It is appalling that only the ACLU and homeless advocates were consulted when drafting this bill. All interested parties, including the city residents and businesses, should have a say in homeless policy. It is no different from corporate lobbyists writing federal legislation while excluding all other interested parties.

DESC, Lutheran Compass Housing and others involved in the hard work of ending homelessness need more support. This proposal does nothing to create a longterm solution to homelessness and the attendant issues. This proposal is a bad idea for everyone involved. Please see reason and listen to the community which urges more thoughtful, effective measures to end homelessness.

This is an absolutely terrible idea. I live near an "encampment" and it would turn our parks into dangerous dumps. People would move here in droves to live in our beautiful parks which tax payers pay for.

An absurd, non-solution. Already tried and resoundingly flopped. OPPOSED.

NO to camping in parks! And to other existing illegal camping, with attendant trash piles, for that matter. (Can't believe the situation the city has allowed to proliferate under Spokane St. viaduct.) Let's find a better solution. This is definitely not it!.

This is a major concern in that many of the park areas are frequented by children or are adjacent to childcare facilities -- this is NOT a safe solution for the community!

We need to address the problem of homelessness - this is NOT the solution.

Please stop this proposal! It will have vast and unintended consequences.
