This is not the solution! It is a train wreck waiting to happen. It was a colossal failure in Portland Oregon. Back to the drawing board Mayor Murray and City Council to find a safe and sanitary solution for the homeless that will not mar the sidewalks, streets and parks of the Emerald City.

I live near Kinnear park, which I don't use because I'm afraid of all the sketchy people living in the woods right next to the walking path.

The Council is being held hostage by what I call the Homeless Industrial Complex or Jim Jones - whichever you prefer. Hooray for Tim Burgess!

Such a misguided idea.

Unbelievably shortsighted. I would prefer my tax dollars be spent on programs to get these people the help they need for now and in the future.

This legislation is absurd. What is wrong with these people? Only Seattle would prioritize homeless bums over the children.

Maybe the mayor and the Council should talk to leaders in Portland before they subject our parks to damage that is hard to repair.

Bill 118794 is destructive to the health and safety of the homeless and the rest of the citizens of Seattle.

Parks and sidewalks are not a solution to the homelessness problem, and $250 per person per day per violation would be better spent providing actual housing.

We need a real solution and this will cause problems and anger that will only set back our efforts.

If this I'll-advised legislation passes, I will never vote for another Parks or School levy again. I have voted yes in every such levy over the past 30+ years, but never with the intent of having these properties become encampments that pose a threat to safety for the the public and those camped there.

This plan failed in Portland; my children there can no longer safely use their local parks. Please don't do this to Seattle.
