Stop Seattle From Turning Our Parks Into Homeless Encampments

It is so unsafe for everyone.

We need to find a better solution. Homeless in our parks is not an answer. We need treatment centers and affordable housing. I will not vote for tax assistance for public parks if they are homeless camps

The. City council needs to worry about the homeless not just allow them to camp wherever and wherever they choose. That is not caring about the problem that is ignoring the problem.

This is insanity!

I shouldn't have to worry about needles or human feces when I want to take my kid to the park..

This is a terrible and short sighted plan. This punts the homeless issue from city leaders and makes the situation worse for the homeless and the homed. Ridiculous.

I pay taxes for the parks to enjoy not for homeless who don't pay taxes to enjoy my money

Please do not pass this ordinance that would allow people to set up camps in our greenbelts in neighborhoods and local parks. I have personally witnessed our neighborhood greenbelt taken over by pitched tents, used needles and watched a man relieve himself right on the sidewalk. Not to mention an increase in car and home break ins. The police respond when they can and move the people out. But with this ordinance, we will have no chance of keeping it from becoming a tent city. With all the drugs, and crime to increase ten fold. It is really sad that we home and business owners of Seattle feel that our voices are being ignored.

Stop! We pay taxes.

This is an issue that the people of Seattle deserve to vote on themselves - enough have expressed interest in it.

It is irresponsible and foolish for the city council to allow our parks to become homeless shelters.

This does nothing to address homelessness. Rather than centralize the homeless, thus at least addressing the needs of them, it disperses them making them harder to track and harder to address. Issues of crime, garbage and public safety can not be addressed.

This law will not lead to a solution to the homelessness problem. Allowing park usage will only negatively impact park users, especially those most vulnerable. Please consider other alternatives. Building conversions like those at the old Sand Point Naval Station, now Magnuson Park could be made into actual housing units. Please do not allow encampments in Seattle. This will only attract more homeless from other communities and is NOT a solution. THANK YOU

This would just create "jungles" all over the city and we would continuely be evicting and cleaning up the messes. The people deserve care, but the residents and tax payers deserve a clean, livable city. We don't have it now and this idea will only make it worse! I live near Victor Steinbrueck park and we are tired of cleaning human feces, etc from our building.

I am a volunteer forest steward in one of our natural areas. I am concerned about our environment and our watershed. I support services for the homeless such as navigation centers (http://www.ecs-sf.org/programs/navcenter.html). Lets tax the developers and provide more for the homeless.
