I do not support this bill! I personally have been cleaning up garbage (including used needles) left by homeless people at Carkeek Park, Golden Gardens and at small church in Ballard. This bill will not solve the homeless problem. Not only does it enable them to stay right where they are and not make any changes, their poor choices become the burden of the tax payer. This bill negates the rights of Innocent children and families playing in parks and at play fields. How are children supposed to play soccer at a field covered with tents and needles? This bill is not a solution! I do not endorse it!!!

This is the most outrageous idea from the city council yet. It would destroy our quality of life in a city that we all love.

How can my child enjoy city parks with people, some dangerous, actually living in them? This would encourage the homeless to come here in even greater numbers than we are seeing now.

Our children deserve to have the freedom to explore our public parks without fear!

Seattle, you can come up with a better plan than this. No need for everyone to go down with the ship.

I am a homeowner and Seattle taxpayer. I am proud to pay tax, and I am proud to live in a City that tries to promote social welfare of all. I am all for helping homeless people. I do not want to turn our back on them, but this is not the answer!! We need to do better. We must do better. Please do not vote to pass this Bill 118794.

We take our children to the parks, we use parks for athletic events, we use our parks for preschool activities. Reassigning the right of use for our parks to one population is unfair and unjust. Yes, homelessness is a problem. Yes, the city needs to find a solution. No, making parks into homeless camps is NOT the solution that best serves the need of a large dynamic outdoor orientated population.

Please don't let them turn Seattle into a place where people no longer feel safe and want to visit.

If the City wants to become a magnet for the nation's homeless, it should build a proper campsite with water and plumbing. Public parks are not designed to be campgrounds, and they don't address other needs of homeless people.

Such an inappropriate way to address homelessness. A failure waiting to happen. Please do not pass this Bill.

This is NOT a solution to Seattle's epidemic of homelessness! These people need to be taken off of the street, treated for whatever addiction and illness, and put in housing so they can live happy, healthy lives. If our parks are covered in tents, bottles, feces, urine, and needles, no tax paying citizen is going to visit and the environment will suffer.

This cannot be approved. It is not the solution, not event part of the solution.

No way to Homeless encampments. My tax dollars should not afford them "homes".

This proposed legislation will only perpetuate the existing problem of homelessness. We need a plan to provide shelters to bring people out of the elements, together with mental health and other services to begin to combat the underlying causes of homelessness. Let take the time to come up with a plan to address this issue comprehensively.

This is one of the worst ideas I have seen. It's inappropriate on so many levels. What a horrible way to treat the homeless people in our city. And the idea of putting our families at risk when they are wanting to enjoy our beautiful public outdoor spaces. Shame on you Seattle City Council!

This is the wrong approach for the community and the homeless. No expert on homelessness endorses this plan.

Please keep our parks the treasures they are.
