This proposal is pandering to special interest groups who are pushing back against the more thoughtful approach proposed by the mayor. I support the mayor's proposal and want a sensible solution to this problem

Please do not allow this to happen. Have the governor and the mayor handle the homeless situation. Stop allowing this to happen with people living on the streets. Clean them up, put them in Jail, homeless shelters or send them to another state.

Homeless people need access to showers, laundry and social services, in addition to a safe place to sleep. This solves nothing! It will make our parks and sidewalks unusable by people of all ages, races and income levels. Do not let this happen.

Pretty soon city “leaders” will make every homeowner allow 1 homeless person pitch a tent in his/her yard.

I am all for helping the homeless but I can't see any reason to turn our beautiful parks in to campgrounds.

Please research how similar bills in other cities have became disastrous for parks. Needles, human waste, trash, etc. all left behind in parks - where families with kids go to enjoy the outside. The petition description is accurate; these people need "homes, rehab facilities, mental health facilities," etc.

I'm sure I don't know the full details on this issue, but to a first approximation, this seems like a plan to convert all city parks to homeless camps.
I do not believe these two land uses are compatible.

Please stop homeless camping. I run through our parks and trails and can't believe how often i run into people in tents, garbage and human waste.

We pay taxes from our hard earned money for parks we can't even enjoy!

Public parks are not the place for the homeless to live! Tent cities has worked well with supervision and structure. The city needs to acquire suitable spaces and land for more of those.

Please do not put this into law. This is not a solution to homelessness. It will make our parks less welcome and safe for all Seattle residents.

This bill cannot be signed, the homeless issue is out of control but this is not the answer.
