This has already proved to be a failed solution as Portland's adoption of this proves. The more intelligent and research solution is to use actual buildings for housing people.

This is not an acceptable solution to this problem. I strongly oppose Seattle Council Bill 118794.

While I want to find a solution to help the homeless, this will have a hugely negative impact on the rest of the Seattle community.

This is a band-aid at best and a dangerous idea at worst. The Seattle City Council is attempting to dump the problem of homelessness into the laps of citizens. They have avoided and delayed on solving this problem until it's out of control. Where's the accountability to developers who are greedily sucking up neighborhoods to get rich under the guise of 'density'? We should be demanding they provide low income and subsidized housing so that ALL citizens of Seattle have the basic amenities, instead of ruining our public spaces with garbage and human waste. And to say this is temporary until we can provide housing is short sightedness beyond the pale. This will only increase homelessness, not decrease it, and in the long run the costs will be even higher. SHAME ON YOU Seattle City Council for not doing your job!

Please don't do this. I read about what happened in Portland and it sounds like it was a mess.

We can't keep up with all the trash now why does the council think this will improve in our parks, green spaces and sidewalks? Also it didn't work in Portland how will it be any better in Seattle? Two questions that should be addressed.

Show us an accurate map of the " not unsuitable" area. Show us just how much of Seattle you intend to make it okay to camp in indefinitely

This proposal has no merit and needs further consideration before moving forward.

We support solutions that support our homeless but not at the expense of our open green spaces. This will not limit our homeless population but increase it. Word will spread and we will become a destination for people who have this unfortunate hardship. The homeless population will increase.

Many of our parks serve as the only green access for low income families and downtown residents. Please don't deny them safe access to one of the most important "comfort zones" within our city.

When our parks are full and our already tapped resources are gone, then what?
