I totally do not support any camping anywhere on public property. Campgrounds, yes, in city parks - absolutely not. People need to learn to get jobs and support themselves. NOT depend on government for any money or support. It is not right to have working citizens pay for others that don't want to support themselves.

Our parks are public places for our families and Seattle visitors to enjoy without disruption from alternative communities taking residence in these areas. While I agree we need to find a safe and nurturing environment for the homeless, it is not in our public parks where are our youngsters play and tourists come to enjoy the natural surroundings.

Do not pass the proposed ordinance. Study impacts, benefits, risks, other alternatives, and unintended consequences before proposing any solutions. Seek a public vote for any similar proposals.

Please consider deferring a vote on this matter. The residents of Seattle need more time for input.

This is not an acceptable solution to the problem of housing the homeless.

Woodland Park is not a place to address the needs of homeless people. Please learn from Portland, rather than repeating their "learning experience". Thank you.

This is not a viable plan for the citizens of Seattle or for truly assisting the homeless living in this city.

Instead of letting this turn into camp run amuck why don't you offer solutions Tim Burgess has a very smart plan -take a look at it!

I would find it odd if a city of environmentalists denied a request for, "a study of the environmental impacts of allowing homeless encampments in public parks and other public spaces".

There must be buildings that are not being used , where the City could make into apartments, or shelters here in Seattle or land that the city has that could be used to build shelters, The City needs to start listening to those who have worked with the homeless. because it doesn't seem like they are.

Greenlake park is a family friendly and SAFE place to enjoy. With homeless people taking over the park, it's disturbing the peace that the community has built. I'm all in favor of supporting the homeless, but putting them in public park is not the way to go.
