Public parks were not meant nor designed to accommodate encampments. I urge the City of Seattle to develop a better solution!

Forced to pay taxes for parks means we are owners and have right to use. Non tax payers contribute nothing but still get to use as public land? BS. Go destroy someone else's investment, I know, the counsel and Mayor's property of every city that allows this!

This is not a solution. End the campaign of enabling. Find existing funds to allow for suitable housing and services for those looking to better themselves.

Homeless encampments in parks are not a solution. It is unsafe. Also, there isn't even enough park space for our growing population. Why should this limited resource go to such a tiny % of the population? Why not use the large undeveloped, city owned track of land on Meyers Way SW instead, or better yet, allocate $ to build more housing and fund social services? Exactly who do Seattle's elected officials represent?? Obviously not the growing number of taxpayers/voters.

Living near Green Lake, we are so aware of the increase in Homeless individuals living in the grassy areas. I've witness men pulling down their pants to scratch or otherwise touch themselves, &hit makes me extremely uncomfortable. As an affluent and progressive city, we should have better options to house and employ, if possible, these people.

It would be great if the people who actually pay for the parks could feel safe there. IJS

Please use our taxes responsibly and build these people housing and social programs. Don't take the easy way out and let them destroy our city just to avoid conflict and the difficult task of actually solving this problem and improving their lives.

Allowing campers to have more rights than the average citizen is not right. Yes people deserve fair treatment but let's not perpuate the situation by saying it is okay and for all our safety as there is more trash, needles and disregard for the community.

Please listen to the people on this one - I have not seen an issue cross over so many different divides as this one with all opposed to this senseless plan.

[email protected] write the city council! NOW!!!
Please, don't aloud anyone to camp where our children play, do sports or live. We want them safe, physically active and happy.
