If you teach children hate, they will grow up to cause war. If you teach them tolerance & understanding, there will be a chance for peace. This is an appalling statement. How can any educator, whose fundamental role is to influence the minds of our youth, assert that "Hamas is doing exactly what they have to do"? Mr. Wong's stance appears to be inconsistent with Australian values. There should be zero tolerance for any form of hate speech, particularly that which condones the brutal, heinous, and barbaric acts of Hamas.

It's a disgrace that this is being allowed in Australia regardless of circumstance. The young minds of this free country are being allowed to be corrupted by hate and violence, by the views of people who have direct influence over them.

If you are going to teach in depth understanding of the history and encourage students to make informed judgements I applaud you. Your job as a teacher is not to indoctrinate or impose your views on school kids, on any subject, including this one.
