As an MSD teacher at the secondary level, I am concerned about the effects MBG will have on academic performance and future prospects for college admission. I do not believe that this educational experiment is beneficial to the students of Moscow.

I am a student at MMS and I hate the way that the grading system is being done here. They say that we and being made the "Focus of Education" so then why can't we chose how we want to be graded. No one likes this. Get rid of it! The students should be able to vote for it!

I worked at MHS for 13 years and can think of any scenario that is beneficial for our students. The top ssudents won't get the chance to expand their horizons and the lower tier students will become more needy for help in expanding theirs.

My comments were inadvertently deleted, I'm reposting them.
In his testimony to the Idaho House Education committee in February, 2019 Greg Bailey said “ now I would say we have probably 95% of our staff... we still have a few that are dragging their feet but we’re re encouraging them to continue to learn... there will be a point where we say thank you.. but you may want to look somewhere else because this is the direction we're going. Continuing to learn what? That if you resist you can find work elsewhere? First of all, if your livelihood is threatened is easy to get on board and join the 95%. Threatening the livelihood of employees because they disagree with you on such a radical and unproven policy l change on is not only unprofessional its not in the spirit of Moscow and its community. Make no mistake about it, SBG is radical and unproven. Second, some questions. Why make this change when so few school districts in the nation have moved to SBG and those that have (like Federal Way and the State of Maine) are now backtracking due to failure? I understand MSD don't have perfect test scores/graduation rates but face it school isn't for everyone. Do we think that a more quantitative way of grading students is the answer to make better students? What was so seriously flawed at MSD to warrant such a radial change.
