Stop removing prescription insurance coverage for state employees hired before July of 2011

44 years of service and counting and this is what I'm getting from my elected officials. This is so wrong. This is one of the single most important benefits for retirees of the state, a promise about to be broken. All of us vote and you better believe most, probably all of us will be voting accordingly.

It is unfair to remove prescription coverage for employees who were promised to be given the coverage when they were hire (before July 2011.

Please keep the insurance coverage.

It is unfair and dishonest to remove prescription coverage employees were given and promised when they were hired (which included all the way through their retirement years). Reinstate the MD State prescription program for MD State retirees NOW.

Keep our prescription as promised to us retirees.

Removing a promised benefit without compensation is simply immoral. What faith do we have that all such promises will simply go away with time?

The presciption benefit needs to be maintained.

Please do not deny retirees their prescription benefits!

Prescription Drug Coverage for Retirees Prescription drug benefits were earned and promised; we rely on them; many individuals considered them when selecting their employment; and now, the benefits are being abruptly discontinued without offering what we consider to be a suitable replacement. During this legislative session, we truly need to be heard in order to keep our prescription drug benefits.

I am a 40 year employee of the state, since 1984. What the heck does this mean, taking away an insurance benefit EVERYONE needs, after all this time? This is the thanks we get for years, or decades of service?? When did Republican ideals start to take over my state government??

I started working in Maryland in 1993 as a Special Education teacher and transitioned to Frostburg State University in 2005. I made a choice to serve, turning down a higher salary because I knew I would have these benefits upon retirement. I made choices base on a promise from Maryland. I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) as a young adult in my career as a Special Education teacher. Did you know that teachers have some of the highest rates of a MS diagnosis? Through medication, I have been stable for over 20 years. This decision will detrimentally impact the quality of my life at retirement after I have served the State for over 30 years.

I am writing to urge you NOT to take prescription coverage away from retirees.

Health insurance is so essential in today's world, particularly to older Americans. I cannot believe that the state of Maryland in considering stripping these benefits in favor of short term financial gains.

Reinstate Maryland State Retirees Prescription Drug Coverage! When I retire in a few years I will have been employed by the State of Maryland for 31+ years. All I ask is that I have the Prescription Drug Coverage that I was promised when I was hired in 1993. Please don't take what was rightfully promised for DECADES!!!

If you must take away Prescription Drug Coverage for Retirees it should be phased in. New employees should be told from day one that they will not have Prescription Drug Coverage when they Retire that's Honest and Up Front! Don't take it away from employees who have been promised coverage for DECADES!!!
