STOP REMOVAL OF LEGALLY PROTECTED SYCAMORE TREES ON BONHILL AND WALTHER WAY

The City permits authorizing take of the three mature western sycamores on this property fail to provide substantive rationale as to why these trees are allowed to be removed under the City of Los Angeles Protected Native Tree Ordinance. Mitigation requirements are unstated in the permit except for the fact new trees will be planted. The biological, community, and climate services currently rendered by the three mature trees cannot be replaced and therefore mitigated by replanting with other unnamed immature species. Should removal be allowed, it will take decades to restore the benefits lost. What good is this ordinance, if petitioners are allowed to remove mature natives by paying a relatively small fee that is much less than the value of the trees and replanting with immature species?

We have watched 2 protected historic oaks chopped down on North Bundy Drive this year. Not coincidentally, both properties were on the market -- and then sold .

Removal of these gorgeous old sycamore trees would be a major loss to the beauty of the neighborhood

Since the trees are protected by law, the developers should not be doing this.

We really need to protect these trees like Pasadena does .... it makes such a huge difference to the charm and character of the neighborhood not to mention the environment and climate Please stop these developers from the ruining our neighborhood. They are just looking to make a profit and could care less about ruining the neighborhood

Please obey the law and do not remove those beautiful and natural works of art enjoyed many times a day by neighbors and drivers through the vicinity.
