Our Vallabh Vidyanagar is the best educational location that a vibrant state like Gujarat, India, since last 50 years in a small town of 29,500 permanent residents, who would have opining rights or voting rights (minus kids etc, coming to hardly 20,000 permanent residents, the HQ and Seat of Sardar Patel University, with top of the line colleges, from Arts to Engineering, SUDDENLY FINDS IN THIS 4th WEEK OF JULY, 2014 THAT SOME MISCREANTS / VESTED INTERESTS etc UNDER THE WRONGLY EXERCISE-ABLE MUNICIPAL RIGHTS ARE CUTTING TREES RAMPANTLY ON BOTH SIDES OF THE ROADS.
This is total insult and violation of our Natural and a rude treatment given to the hard work of Nature conservationists and the founders and nurturers of Vallabh Vidyanagar, which is indeed the seat of Education visioned and supported by BHARAT RATNA Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel , the Iron Man and Architect of India and the beloved Bhaikaka and Bhikakaka.
The only reason, given by such authorities is that one old lady had died, while she was resting under one of the trees and just for that they are rampantly cutting the trees and taking help of Police Force to implement the political of destroying the tress that are part of beauty of Vallabh Vidyanagar and remembered by more than 2 Million students who graduated from the hold Educational township out of which there are more than 150,000 are now residing in USA, Canada, UK and African countries... the love of all students that graduated is so deep that all of us cannot stop ourselves, without opposing this reckless treatment to the wonderful town of Vallabh Vidyanagar - 388120 , Anand District, Gujarat State in India.
We are worried, because the authorities did not give any general information to residents, who have a right to oppose, whereas no one also knows, where these TREE-LOGS would be going and who would benefit from its sales and at what price, this is more undemocratic and punishing to the Environment, please see the picture how Vidyanagar has been looking since last 50 years and how it would become if this reckless drive is continued....COME JOIN AND SIGN THIS PETITION .... THIS PETITION IS FULLY SUPPORTED BY VIDYANAGAR NATURE CLUB, who have been fighting for the better environmental conditions since last 10 years approx and now see this reckless felling of trees undertaken.

The authorities are still refusing to provide a clear explanation for this destruction. Each day feels like an uphill battle against people who do not care about the history of this town. I am exhausted by the silence but I refuse to let these trees disappear without a fight.

Please Stop Cutting Trees without any planning. If one tree falls down in monsoon, The municipality Cuts down bunch of trees without knowing how important they are!, And if itnis necessary to cut down a tree why don't we plant a new one at same spot?
This is absolute madness. VVN is known for its greenery and these people are destroying the soul of our town just because of one incident. Stop this now!
So painful to see our beautiful roads becoming barren. These old trees are the identity of Vidyanagar. Save them before it is too late.
Shame on the authorities for using police to cut down trees. You are ruining the legacy of Bhaikaka. Leave our trees alone!!!
Cutting trees is not the solution for safety. Trim the branches if needed but dont kill the whole tree. We need shade not concrete roads.
Don't cut trees , save environment
Before cutting tree administration should put evidence more plantation done

Earth का कुछ करो वरना UnEarth हो जायेगा......Brazil had 301 billion trees (1,494 per person), Canada 318 billion (8,953 per person), and China 139 billion (102 trees per person). Among highly populous countries, India (population, 1.267 billion) had a tree population of only 35 billion, leading to just 28 trees per person. How low you still want to go???
