The constant blowing of the horn in the middle of the night is DISTRESSING!!! Why? There must be a quieter way to maintain safety. We shouldn't have to suffer like this AND we may taxes!!!!

This train horn sounds day and night. It is very disturbing. It is loud and runs often. It is not necessary at night!!!!

The quality of life is affected with the noise polution from the trains that run through south plainfield NJ all day long. I have a 2 year old who now wakes up every hour due to the noise even with a sound machine that we hoped would cover the noise. What is the mayor doing with south plainfields noise ordinance order no. 918 chapter 135. We need to provide a noise free healthy environment for the south plainfield nj residence

The train noise is ridiculous here in Piscataway, my house sits right alongside the tracks I have cracks in the walls and it vibrates the dishes in my cabinets the horn blares all hours of the day and night getting a good night's sleep is nearly impossible hi Home sets about 40 yards from the crossing so you can imagine just how loud that horn is

The number of trains have increased significantly over the years and 4 whistles each time a train passes is ridiculous. Gates and flashing lights is enough to warn people a train is coming. It's disruptive to people who work from home. My clients/colleagues can hear the train whistle over the phone.

My daughter has special needs and sleep issues. The horn traumatizes her and causes sleep interruption. I'm referring to the railroad crossing that runs parallel to Jarard Road (which turns to Mountain).

There is a significant increase in the amount of trains passing through our town at all hours of the day and night. Our quality of life is suffering, we are unable to sleep throughout the night. The constant train noise impacts health with high risk of cardiovascular disease, impaired learning, diminished productivity, hearing loss among a multitude of other health issues. Our property value is negatively impacted, our walls have cracks from the vibrations of the trains, people are unable to sell their homes. Edison and Westfield have implemented the Quiet Zone. There is no reason why South Plainfield can't do the same.

The town council mentioned building up the downtown area with outdoor seating. I don't see how this will be possible with train horns blowing 4x every 30 minutes to 1 hour. The litter downtown is an issue too, but that's another topic.
