I am a resident living just one block away from the freight train tracks in our neighborhood. While I understand and appreciate the importance of freight transportation for our local and national economy, the frequent and loud train horns—especially during the night—have become a significant disruption to daily life. The train horns regularly sound between the hours of 8:00 PM and 5:00 AM, making it extremely difficult for residents to get uninterrupted sleep. This constant noise affects not only our quality of life, but also our health, productivity, and general well-being. The loud blasts often exceed safe decibel levels and disturb families, children, and the elderly in our community. I am writing to respectfully request that our city consider establishing a "Quiet Zone" for this section of the rail line.
