I’m signing this petition because this project won’t benefit anybody. This project will cause more issues than benefits, such as traffic and pollution.

I am a resident of Deep East Oakland and I do not approve of this new Amtrak rail changes. Communities here in East Oakland already experience high levels of pollution and toxins due to environmental injustice and racism and other systematic violence. These changes will add on to the already recurring problems that we experience day to day. Our health matters, our neighborhoods matter. Listen to the people! Protect the people!

We can not have more traffic and pollution in the east. Listen to the real experts and hear what residents have to say about their community. We don't need this "development" causing more environmental harm.

Our community, Sobrante Park, already suffers with poor air quality and noise. For fourteen (14) years at my previous residence in South Stonehurst my backyard was next to UP railroad. The 4 a.m. train was nerve wracking. I moved to Sobrante Park and over the years the rail activity decreased. Now to learn train activity is proposed to increase with Amtrak is upsetting. More noise, more pollution and increased traffic back-ups. We already have traffic problems with the many schools in Sobrante Park (1 elementary; 3 middle and 3 high schools). Enough. This community can't sustain any more disruption. Sobrante Park is encircled by Union Pacific rail lines. What more do you want from us? We just want to live in peace.
