For the last several years the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates has been hosting a racing event that hosts exotic and vintage sports cars to include other vehicles that are being driven for an ultimate driving experience in which Imagine Lifestyles and possibly other individuals or corporations charges individuals a fee to drive one of these vehicles in the parking lot of the Sears Centre to include other possible corporations or individuals test driving high performance vehicles in the parking lot as well.

Whereas, these high performance vehicles produce constant high engine noise and also are sometimes driven carelessly by an individual causing the screeching of tire noise and constant braking noise.

Whereas, the residents in the area have voiced concern for the safety of this event and have also expressed concern over the constant noise that emits from this event disturbing a breach of the peace to the residents on Colchester Ave and Shotkoski Dr and also causing a health and welfare concern to the residents.

Whereas, the Village Manager James Norris as well as Mayor Bill McLeod and the event coordinators Ben Gibs and Pam Lintern at the Sears Centre has been contacted so a peaceful resolution can be sought to this constant yearly problem to no avail or assistance by them, only to the fact that said parties have informed petitioner that the Village is aware of the problem and working to resolve it even though said individuals have had knowledge from residents of this problem in the past and have continued to book the events and disregard the residents of Colchester Ave and Shotkoski Dr.

Whereas, based on the lack of the Village of Hoffman Estates officials to care for its residents on Colchester Ave and Shotkoski Dr. and not assisting with this problem that has been presented to include violating the Village’s Noise ordinance.

We the undersigned individuals who reside on Colchester Ave and Shotkoski Dr and any other supportive individuals are now demanding that these racing or performance events cease and desist in the parking lots of the Sears Centre immediately, and that if necessary an injunction to be placed against the Village of Hoffman Estates and the operators of the Sears Centre to cease the booking of these events immediately, and in the future. If in fact this event is to be held, it is to be held inside the Sears Centre or at another venue or area that does not disturb the peace and tranquility of all, to include the health and welfare of the undersigned on Colchester Ave and Shotkoski Dr. and not violate the Village’s Noise ordinance in Hoffman Estates IL.

We the undersigned also demand that any payment for attorneys be paid for by the Village Of Hoffman Estates or the Sears Centre if this problem is not resolved in a timely fashion to the satisfaction of all parties and also that this petition is binding.
