STOP Public Road Connection Through Lakestone Subdivision

We bought our home in Lakestone with the understanding it would be a private neighborhood. There was no mention of a public access road going through the development. If this was an option, it should have been part of the negotiation/buying process from day one. Now that the Builder has sold all the homes and a public connector is now being proposed, resembles a 'bait and switch' move; b/c the proposed access will severely jeopardize the peacefulness, safety, and resale value of our homes. We say ‘NO…NEVER’ to an access road. ***If the City wanted such a connector, they should have made it KNOWN to all of us, BEFORE we decided to make Lakestone and Woodstock our home. The City should have been transparent about it’s intentions so the Homeowners would have known about this plan years ago. ***We VEHEMENTLY OPPOSE the proposal of a public road cutting through our neighborhood, and we are willing to join the other residents to do whatever is necessary to prevent such a road from destroying our quality of life and our financial investment: finances which support this City. If the City of Woodstock wishes to keep their residents happy and serve the best interests of the Lakestone Homeowners as they are entrusted to do, then the City should quash the proposal for this access street immediately; as it goes against the ardent wishes of Lakestone Taxpayers, pursuing such a thoroughfare will only create discontented Constituents. In addition, the road will inevitably destroy that which makes Lakestone a quality and desirable neighborhood which attracts new people to reside in Woodstock. It will also create a liability issue for the Residents should anyone be injured while traveling the road on which their properties are located. We oppose proposed road connection. This is completely ill thought out idea. Simply put STUPID idea. This puts our community at risk, specially children. Heads need to roll for putting out these types of proposals.

I wanted to note my and my family's opposition to the proposed road changes for the Lakestone Subdivision. The changes would create a dangerous cuthrough that would violate the fundamental design and purpose of the residential nature of the subdivision. The roads in Lakestone are designed as an enclosed, limited access subdivision. Opening a cuthrough from 92 to South Cherokee would cause a dangerous situation with drivers using curvy roads at high speeds during rush hour traffic, right at the time children are walking to the bus stop. This also sets a dangerous precedent that builder greed comes before children's safety.

We oppose this public road connection. It is certainly not what we signed up for when we bought our home in this community. We vote to preserve the privacy of Lakestone community.

I think that would be a shame. There is no question we would get outside traffic if this was approved. South Cherokee Lane has so many ups and down and turns and Trickum has terrible traffic. It will not take long for others to discover the cut through. Not to mention I would expect traffic from the new construction taking place on S Cherokee lane to lead over into this cut through off of 92. Stop this cut through.

Would have had second thoughts about purchasing within this community had a know a road would be placed in the back of the community. This road decreases safety & privacy as well as increaes car traffic on a road children frequent, traffic by people who are not residents of our community.
