If PSE truly wants to protect their grid. They need to bury their wires in underground pipes. Truncating trees devalues owners’ properties as well as the beauty of our rural landscape.
I am sick of seeing poles and wires strung up along every street. PSE should have started burying wire decades ago. Now that they realize the hazardous and expensive mess they’’ve created, PSE wants you and I to help them pay to fix-it.
This is another example of corporate cost cutting in order to maximize shareholder value. And in this case, PSE is entirely foreign owned:
PSE's current owners are Alberta Investment Management Corporation, British Columbia Investment Management Corporation, OMERS (Ontario, CAN), and PGGM (NLD)
Maybe we should lobby our State. Legislature to force PSE to do the right thing.

Do the Attorney General's Office, the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission, and local realtors know about this "aggressive" action by PSE? Is it time to try again for a Public Utilities District (PUD) on Vashon for electricity?

While tree removal is the most visible concern, the less visible shift of PSE moving power poles, via easements, to private property, raises even more concerns. By avoiding Franchise Property Fees, PSE is shifting the tax burden to individuals. Sign this petition to say "no thanks, PSE"!

Please sign and save our trees- all of Vashon and beyond is under threat from this aggressive pursuit of property rights by PSE. The community needs to come together in resistance to the way this giant corporation is behaving. This is a land grab- nothing more

This definitely is a "taking". PSE needs to seek the right off eminent domain if they want to appropriate land for the public good (and not for their own profit).
