Suppy and Demand economics works. To artificially lower the rental costs, will devalue the properties, and the landlords, in turn will bring certiorari actions to lower their taxes because of lowered values of the properties. The difference will have to be made up somewhere, and that somewhere are the owners of homes in Ossining, many of which have been recently hit with sizable increases in taxes, due to the Tyler Tech reappraisals. The proposed act is bad for the homeowners of Ossining, and bad for Ossining, itself.

ETPA DOES NOT: 1. Create any new affordable housing units; 2. open any existing affordable housing units; 3. Help in any way those looking to find affordable housing. ETPA DOES: 1. Penalize property owners for investing in their community; 2 Create poverty pockets in a community; Lower the amount of available affordable housing in a community; Raise taxes on everyone else in the community.

Enacting ETPA will hurt all property tax payers by having to subsidize rental buildings constructed before 1974. Say not to ETPA! Rent regulations DON'T work!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oJvTTGOHFkU

Reduce taxes for everyone and then everything will be more affordable! Otherwise the building owners won't have the money to maintain the buidlings, their property values will decrease and others tax bills will go up....look at other towns that have the same conpared to before they passed it!

My question is: how is ETPA going to benefit Ossining? How will run down homes benefit Ossining? How does LOWER PROPERTY VALUES and higher tax burdens benefit Ossining?

As a realtor and an Ossining resident I am not confident nor convinced this is a viable option for Ossining.

Tired of Tax increase. We need more effective solutions to reduce Tax on homeowner families. Not addon based on poorly researched data to provide unsure population by unsettling majority of the existing population.
I meet familis who are in the market to buy ever so often and their take on Ossining. Tax is too high to begin with to consider.
And there seems to be no sign of trying to decrease. The increase just in the short number of recent years doesn't make living in Ossining promising.
Ossining needs a brighter future then looking forward to Tax increase every year.

Ossining village board has yet to do anything but break the backs of the working middle class and force people out because they can't afford to live here anymore and this is only going to add to the issues of this municipality. This board is the epitome of the failed Obama administration. #TrumpPence2016

We have a lot of affordable housing, as we should, and plenty of illegal allocations which should be addressed. Rent control is not good for anyone in this town.

What is happening???? This is not why I moved here. So sad to see out town turning into something reminiscent of what so many move away from.
