The nightmarish situation in our jails and prisons is enough to keep one up at night. If we only knew the suffering that exists for our friends and family and fellow man we would make a change, put an end to a system that dehumanizes and traumatized men and woman who may or may not have made a mistake, usually based on necessity in a society that blames individuals for an oppressive environment that they are usually born into. It simply must stop. It must.

To the officers these people are inmates, to there families they are loved ones!!!! and my tax dollars gives them a paycheck! Nobody deserves to be treated like an animal!!! instead of being lazy on the job Do your job and help those in need!!! these officers need to be evaluated they have issues too.

Having the same issues with a family member in federal prison. Dont know how to help them without them getting punished.

I cannot express my disgust for this treatment. They commited a crime and sentenced accordingly. The medical staff is corrupt and so is the correctional officers and facilities. The good officers get a bad rep because of the bad ones. I will stand my ground they are wrong for their actions why strip them down to less than nothing.

The ones that are in charge of the prisoners are commiting illegal acts against the prisoners themselves. This has to stop!

My son was abused on Dec. 2oth, by CO's in SCI Smithfield prison. He was supposed to be out of the hole on the 17th of Dec. On the 20th of Dec. his cell dore accidently poped opened and him was severely beatened down by 4 guards. He was stomped in the face, kicked in the head and stomach and never taken to received medical treatment. The other day on Jan. 21st him and another prisoner were given a green meal tray. He refused to eat his and was given another one. He told them that in his seven years in prison he has never seen a green meal tray. The other inmate kept his. He opened it, bit down and bit into a razor blade. The guards have gone to far with our brothers and sisters. This has got to stop.

This issue is so underrepresented. Those who are in prisons need to be in a safe environment. The US prison system is so broken.

My son is incarcerated for burglary doing 10 years he's only 24 years old and they have placed him in a maximum security prison - he is getting harrassed by the corrections officers there - need help!!

My son is a prisoner at Lanesboro CI in Polkton, NC. He has been beaten my guards and this prison is already under investigation for miss treating inmate.

The grievance system is so distorted and a long process that you'd be dead by retaliation before you ever saw the completion. Guards hate their jobs and they hate the people. It's a separate culture that needs to be brought to community standards.
