Circa April of 2012, a certain individual began a smear campaign against Naughty Nights Press (NNP), to include reporting NNP to Preditors & Editors (P&E) as "strongly not recommended." Part of this campaign included libel, as well as lawsuits filed against NNP in a manner which breached the contracts this individual had signed with NNP, making these lawsuits null and void --if not downright illegal.

Despite protestations and challenges from the CEO of NNP, this negative status has remained on P&E, giving the publisher a "strongly not recommended" status it does not deserve.

Since then, this unfair and unsubstantiated negative status on P&E has continued to interfere with the professional careers of the authors signed with NNP. This negative status is libelous, unsubstantiated, and no due diligence was performed to investigate the validity of any of this individual's claims.

We, the authors and allies of Naughty Nights Press, demand Preditors & Editors remove the "strongly not recommended" status for NNP from their website, reopen any investigation for NNP, and perform their due diligence to verify the quality of NNP as a small press romance publisher of both electronic and print books.

Only by being a responsible and thorough investigator into negative claims against publishers can they maintain their status as a trusted resource for aspiring writers, agents, writers groups, and those interested in entering the publishing business.

June 2, 2014

The current momentum confirms that industry observers are taking notice of these factual inaccuracies. Legal counsel is reviewing the documentation for a formal demand letter to reach the Preditors and Editors administration next week.

Stop letting one person with a grudge ruin a publisher that actually cares about their books. Total mess.

Fix this now. No due diligence at all.

Ridiculous. They never checked the facts. NNP has been nothing but professional and helpful to me.

CLEAN UP THE SITE. You guys are supposed to be a guide for writers but this is just basing things on rumors and lies. Do your homework.

This is so unfair. P&E needs to actually talk to people at NNP before just plastering that warning on their site. It hurts real authors.

I trust NNP and they have always treated me amazingly well. This label is total garbage.
