Stop Portland City Council from Ignoring Neighborhood Associations

City Council Commissioners: Chloe Eudaly; Nick Fish; Amanda Fritz; Jo Ann Hardesty and Mayor Ted Wheeler. The 3.96 Committee should augment the existing guidelines for the 95 Neighborhood Associations by simply adding language that encourages more diverse outreach! The annual $950 should be increased to help the associations with this outreach and help with the costs of meeting rooms and supplies. The Volunteers over the years must be in the thousands and I have always found the neighbors in all 3 neighborhoods I’ve lived in to be mindful and ooen to all people that attend and officiate the proceedings. Please build upon the Neighborhood Association legacy! Thank you

Neighborhood associations have a long history of achieving resident participation in city government decisions. They act to protect and speak for neighborhood and in coalition with other neighborhoods, bring residents together and expand knowledge of the city as a whole. Please DO NOT diminish the role of neighborhood associations in Portland.

Please do not approve this proposed change to code 3.96.
