Stop Poisoning Hastings Village

I'd rather have weeds and not worry about toxic chemicals in my air, grass and eventually ending up in my water supply. And thank you Gabriella carputo for pushing this petition

I'm with ya Lederman.

My dog has terrible rashes on her feet and licks her paws only in the summer. I thought it was an allergy to pollen or grass but I believe it is actually from the poison they put down.

Why is this even a discussion? If "Speed Zone" is so toxic and dangerous, just STOP!

Sheer lunacy.Never happened in my parents day and few of my friends had allergies. Now it seems all our children have allergies and the lifespan of dogs seem to be de-creasing.

My dog recently started having swollen paws, red ears and and is contently scratching his face. Now I know pesticides are placed all over and has been my entire life, but since moving here, my dog has definitely formed some sort of allergy and I don't think that's normal.

There is no need whatsoever to poison the lawn especially to just get rid of clover. Clover is a plant that helps bees to thrive, is planted in rural areas to make hay for animals and does not grow high enough to be an eyesore. Mowing it would do just fine to keep the little white flowers from showing, if that's the intention here. It looks a whole lot better than burnt straw, which is how the lawn looks now, due in part, I suspect, to all the chemicals sprayed on it in the past.

Please stop spraying poison on our grass. I don't want the chemicals on my lawn, in my air for myself & my pets to breathe. I'm stating NO poison.

Unless management can refute the research in the petition that applying poison will not have the affects that the petitioner has researched, I am against any poisons being used. Petitioner is spot on with regards to the appearance of the grass. It is ugly to say the least, and always has been. Why bother to pay to apply poison to grass that only looks as if it has always been neglected? Wildlife, pets, humans, should not be subjected to poisons, ever!

As a resident with a dog I do not feel it is safe nor beneficial to the people or animals at hastings village to spray. Research and studies have proven that pesticides cause cancer and related illnesses from digesting and breathing in these harmful chemicals.

My health is more important than a few weeds. Please do not spray our homes with toxic chemicals.

Agent orange is no joke. My grandpa was in the Vietnam war and the agent orange caused him to get Type 1 Diabetes and a bout of colon cancer. He struggles EVERY day trying to keep his sugar levels regulated and has had some scary accidents bc of it. No one should be using agent orange!

If you are one of the Hasting Village residents who called the office last week to complain about being routinely exposed to poison by the landscaper, you were probably told not to worry, that the chemicals used are, “completely safe.” Here are the facts: 1. There is nothing safe about the chemicals they use in Hastings Village, or about the way they use them. Read the poison label for yourself at this website. You will see that none of the health precautions or safety warnings are being followed: http://www.pbigordon.com/pdfs/SpeedZoneLawnWeedKiller-SL.pdf For example, the label clearly states: “Do not apply this product in a way that will contact any person or pet, either directly or through drift. Keep people and pets out of the area during application. Do not allow people or pets to enter the treated area until sprays have dried.” The poison is sprayed from a tanker truck through a device similar to a fire hose. The spray creates a huge cloud of poison that drifts in the wind and that later dries to a fine powder where wind and leaf blowers re-circulate it for months to come. The landscaper could not possibly follow the safety instructions on the product label without the entire property being evacuated. Instead, residents are directly exposed to poison through their air conditioners while they sleep, in their cars and while walking on the sidewalk. Dogs are licking the poison off their fur and paws. Dogs also eat the poisoned grass. All of us are tracking it into our homes on our shoes. Children play in the grass, their parents having no idea that they are rolling in poison. 2.
