The plans to deny a traffic signal at the intersection of Lake Conroe Village Blvd and Hwy 105 and instead install a raised median for left hand turns lane onto Lake Conroe Village Blvd from Hwy105 while eliminating left turns (westbound) from Lake Conroe Village Blvd to Hwy 105 must be halted. This traffic barrier will require all westbound traffic to first turn right (eastbound) and conduct a U-turn in order to travel west. This direction (west) provides access to schools, retail goods and services, banks, healthcare providers and various other services that are west of Lake Conroe Village. This change in traffic patterns will cause impromptu U-turns and result in an inevitable increase in accidents at an intersection which has seen previous serious accidents. The traffic study cited to justify the denial of a traffic signal at this intersection is dated and stale at best. This TXDOT study fails to consider the exponential increase in population of Lake Conroe Village as well as the huge increase in traffic on Hwy 105. We are petitioning for this project to be halted until more current study can be conducted. The solution is a traffic light at Lake Conroe Village Blvd and Hwy 105.
