For the second time this month, PG&E is planning to shut off power to hundreds of thousands of homes and businesses for no apparant or logical reason. They are using the excuse of "wildfire conditions" to turn off power to so many people that need to stay warm during the cold nights of October. Some people need power for medical reasons, for newborn babies, and of course everyone needs their refrigerator running and for peace of mind. The weather forecast in the town I live in calls for no wind gusts higher than 12mph and the humidity is relativily average around 60%. This PSPS (Public Safety Power Shutoff) has never happened before this year, and downed power lines were death with ACCORDINGLY, IF there happens to be any problems. Instead of the regular M.O., PG&E us putting hundreds of thousands of lives at risk for no apparent reason. I think this is a huge misuse of power for them to be working with police to let so many people suffer in the cold and/or without the medical help they need. Not to mention the groceries that will be ruined which of course everyone just re-bought since the last "PSPS" blackout. This is completely unnecessary and needs to be cancelled. Go back to the regular method of operating and wait until there is actual damage and THEN work on fixing that localized area. DO NOT PUT PEOPLE'S LIVES AT RISK IN 30-SOMETHING DEGREE WEATHER. IF YOU CAN AGREE WITH THIS, PLEASE SIGN .
PEACE AND POWER TO THE PEOPLE.
