The Parsippany "Fields of Dreams" initiative is one that has been created and practically pushed through without much education to all Parsippany voters to understand and decide on. Granted, it's not an issue that will be voted on -- however, voters had their say on Open Space back in 2006 and what was voted on is not what will be abided by if this proceeds. We, the concerned citizens of Parsippany, feel the Open Space fund will be disingenuously used for Parsippany "Fields of Dreams." The fact that our Open Space monies will be used to fund it makes it an issue all voters should be aware of -- and one that all residents should have their say in. Up until now, only supporters have been vocal and represented. That will change.

Because all information needs to come to light, we would like to have a petition signed to half plans for the "Fields of Dreams" in their current form and revisit our high school fields more closely with the Board of Education and research all other available sources of funding before proceeding down any particular path.

Please join us. Demand transparency and communication from our elected and appointed officials. Help preserve our Open Space funds for what they were intended for. Be part of an innovative solution that gets high school athletes updated fields (in whatever form best suits their needs) but doesn't require our two high schools giving up 51% of their rights to time on their property for decades and opens their fields up to town leagues. Have a voice in our town and help us stop Parsippany "Fields of Dreams" in its current form.

the momentum behind this is honestly incredible and shows how many of us are worried about our open space funds. it feels like people are finally realizing we need more transparency before these plans go any further.

This whole thing feels shady. Why are they hiding the plans from us?! We deserve to know where our money is actually going at the HS level.

Stop wasting our tax money on this. We voted for open space to stay open not to pave over it for more sports fields. Get the budget under control.

Seriously just fix what we already have instead of acting like there is money to burn.
