Stop Overdevelopment in Strawberry!

Smart and proper use of the seminary property would not allow the plan put forward by North Coast Land Holding to be implemented. Building as much as they want would be a traffic disaster, would diminish public safety, and would materially harm nearby property values. North Coast has relied on improbable/unlikely projections to predict the impact on the surrounding community. Their "predictive research" must be discounted. The negative impacts on the Strawberry area would be much worse than they claim. The Strawberry community HAS NOT been involved in North Coast's plans in any meaningful way. Please support the requests in this petition for meaningful dialogue with the Strawberry community in the seminary property development.

As a resident of Strawberry (14 Vista Real), I have not heard of ANY outreach by North Coast Land Holding. With only main roads in/out of the seminary, the traffic is already bad. Adding more units, more students, more staff would create a public safety disaster. Imagine all the traffic that would drive by Strawberry Elementary School every day, putting lives at risk. In its past attempts, North Coast used questionable data, poor methods, and no community outreach. They stood up at the one community meeting and told mis-truths (at best). The County has an opportunity to engage with the community, DENY the proposed amendments, and take simple steps to avoid what could be disastrous. The County does not want to be liable for the traffic injuries and grievous harm that will certainly take place. This issue demands real engagement with the local community to find a safe, suitable solution. Respectfully yours, Andrew Dailey

I support this petition. As noted, change is inevitable, but now is the time for thoughtful development that can benefit the community and Marin County.

The planned development would squeeze an already over crowded space. What about water supply?

I would like NCLH and the Marin Board of Supervisors and the Marin Planning Commision to pay attention to the infrastructure difficulties to come as a result of this, as pointed out by the Strawberry Community and the Strawberry Design Review Board- as a going in consideration. The current mindset of NCLH seems to include this as a problem for the existing community, to be repaired later. I am haunted by the thought that some day we'll all be asleep and this project will go forth.

Please stop trying to force this bad project through. It does not fit with the community plan.

any member of the planning commission or board of supervisors who votes in favor of NCLH should be required to live within 1/2 mile of the Seminary.

There should be ZERO support from the PC and BOS for this project unless and until the developer engages in meaningful and sincere dialogue with the community.

I am a Strawberry resident and maintain a vested interest in the future of this community. North Coast Land Holding has no such interest!

Let’s work together for a development that works for the community, the county and the developer. There are many needs here most of which I don’t think the applicant has addressed.

This developer has not listened to community, nor observed the Strawberry Plan.

Change is inevitable. Attractive single family homes combined with affordable workforce housing makes the most sense.

This is a plan that will destroy precious wildlife habitat that is already scarce due to overdevelopment. The neighborhood is ALREADY over capacity with numerous high density apartment & condominium complexes. Enough is enough.

Dealing with even heavier traffic is a deal breaker for me. Seminary Drive is not lit and suffers from unsafe traffic already. I am opposed to any new development because of the road system as well as the environment.
