Infrastructure is not in place. Look what is happening to the two bridges, SR 78 and the potential destruction of Bayshore with the increased traffic with heavy trucks…The developers only care about building all this and leaving the mess for the rest of us to fix…

When I saw what they did to cracker shack I was sick to my stomach. Anytime I came north from Estero that was a go to spot that was deeply rooted in my soul. I’m originally from a country area of South Carolina and I came here for work, coming to Alva was my home away from home. The sprawling area of Estero, Fort Myers and Bonita are nice and have their quirks but nothing beats a scenic area on the outskirts with places to clear your head and see untouched land. I believe Florida is on the wrong path and is quickly losing its appeal. When people think of Florida most think of the beaches but quite a few think of the land, the animals and conservation areas such as the Everglades. The more you push, the more you develop, the more Florida will start to lose its appeal and the more people will not visit. Animals will start to phase out and Mother Nature will perish. Do not develop Alva and don’t you dare force people away from their businesses that many love.

It won't be Alva anymore and Alva doesn't have the infrastructure and there's plenty of brand new empty homes in fort Myers you just wanna develop while you can still afford to but Alva must be a buffer from this trashy low quality development to stop swfl from becoming a concrete wasteland like the east coast peopel aren't gonna flee the east coast to go to the second east coast don't be greedy have a meeting with Jesus and pray

My wife and I moved our family to Alva for it's natural beauty and rural charm. Living off North River Road, the local infrastructure is already completely overwhelmed. Florida wetlands are critical for water mitigation and absorption when faced with storms. Changing zoning to residential with further strain this delicate ecosystem and adjacent mangroves. Further strain is placed on the antiquated Fort Myers Central Facility exposing residents to waste water run off. The road infrastructure is completely suboptimal to handle 1,100+ new homes. This is the last rural beacon in Lee County and should be preserved.

Over development is what will most likely lead to me leaving SWFL one day, even after being born and raised. Fight for every inch of land we can

There’s enough development. There’s hardly any rural land left and the amount of serious accidents that occur is out of control already. Let’s not add to it.

Keep Alva’s rural heritage and protect the species of wildlife who take refuge here.
