Stop Ousting of Pier Road Historic District Shops in Jekyll Island

Please leave Jekyll alone.

Please keep the shops and be upfront with the intentions of the Jekyll Island Authority with this land grab.

We shop regularly at these beautiful buildings rich in history. It would be a huge loss for locals such as myself. If they close these shops, we will no longer update our annual pass.

I will miss the shops if they close. Shop owners deserve better!

We are annual permit holders and frequent the shops in the historic district. We have watched several of the historic "Cottages" be turned over to the hotel and fear the same may be the fate of the Pier Rd. Shops. Please let them remain open.

Please don’t close the shops!!

We love coming to visit and spending time on Jekyll. The shops add to the unique character and experience. Please don't close them.

We have wintered on Jekyll Island for the last 15+ years. We’ve frequently used these stores when there. We don’t want to see them closed.

Please keep the shops open. They are a vital part of the Historic district.

I don’t understand why this is happening. I love shopping in these shops.

It's sad to see what the JIA has turned the island into!

Small businesses keep our town going....

This is a transparent money grab and the JIA and all it’s members should have to go through a forensic audit. They will obviously give it to a developer who will put up another generic wanna be resort and keep locals out.

I am so disappointed that these small businesses are at the brink of dissolution.

Let the shop owner stay. Greed cannot always win.

We loved Doc Snack shop. We loved this section of JI. It is a mistake to change these shops.

Protect the integrity of our island! Keep the shops open

Will the stores just sit empty and become an eyesore for months to maybe years. Shouldn't the plan be the 1st thing completed, before you let go of 7 small businesses who represent and embody all things Jekyll.

I have loved shopping in and supporting these wonderful and unique shops in the historic district for many years, first as a visitor and now as a home owner. As a former small business owner myself, I know the hard work, sacrifice and dedication involved. The way this was handled seems very callous and a very bad start to whatever the new direction is there.
