Payment by phone is too arduous if you haven't already registered. By offering one hour pit stops this will help inject some much needed cash into the high street!

Most shopping trips don't take long. Thirty minutes or aAn hour would mean a great deal to the shopper and more importantly to the local shops.

Will the council not be satisfied until half the shops are derelict. I REFUSE to shop in Finchley except for aldi where I can put coinage into a machine and know exactly what I'm doing. I always have a few Bob in my car ashtray to put in a meter but haven't always got my phone with me or enough charge on it. What a totally stupid and inadequate parking system whereby you have to get your phone out out look for your glasses and punch in numbers. And by the way, how on earth do you keep track of your charges. How do you prove/disprove the amounts on your credit/debit card statements. Here's a terrific idea ...wh not introduce a nationwide 'Oyster card ' system The same as public transport but for parking. Just top up your card in various outlets and swipe it on a parking meter. You will have lots of money banked in advance also. Think about it

Shopped regularly in Barnet and Finchley until the parking charges were implemented and the, pay by phone! Easier not to shop there now, more hassle and aggravation especially for the elderly.
