I know how hard they (OFWs) work for their families, for the education and career of their children, or for whatever reason. Life abroad isn't that easy as what BOC thinks. Balikbayan boxes are something they can connect and show their love for the people they've left here in the Philippines. Despite the distance, these boxes are still meant to be opened by their loved ones. It's something that gives them a feeling home and comfort from halfway around the world. Now BOC would trash something like that? I'd drop 'em off to Aleppo cause I think ISIS needs these types of basic government monkeys for their next season of their incineration mini-series.

Pls.stop opening our box.those goods are we bought for a sale. And some are used stuff that some foreign give away.we worked hard..we sacrifice to be far for our family just to earn and our boxes before we fill up it takes 3months.I hope all from the Customs have conscience.

No to oppening on balikbayan boxes!!

To the Bureau of Customs, you should have a better system if that really is your purpose to catch the smugglers!!! This rule truly is unconstitutional violating ( Bill of Rights) Art. 3, Sec. 2 of the 1987 Philippine Constitution stating the right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers and effects against unreasonable searches and seizures of whatever nature and for any purpose. This provision expressly provides the illegality of what the Bureau of Customs of the Republic of the Philippines is currently doing to the balikbayan boxes which are private properties of OFWs hardly working for their families! Imagine how inhuman you are doing these unlawful inspection to these gifts we hardly earn for our love ones!!! How many boxes you opened will be the counts pf illegal search you are liable to!!! know what??? the People of the Philippines should be the one inspecting your houses for we are the ones paying your salary, as always reiterated by Pnoy, we are your boss !!! However Mr. President, you are so disappointing!! you do not exercise Diligence of a good father of a family in choosing your cabinet members. Before passing a Memorandum/Rule for any department, at least review if they are in accordance with the Constitution. In Statutory Construction remember that the Constitution is the Supreme Law or the Law of all laws. Any statute contradicting the constitution is unconstitutional and shall be deemed null and void ab initio! Further, what is happening now is that Malacanang is always there to defend the government of the Philippines not the People of the Philippines.

Dapat magkaisa ang mga Ofw n wag pumayag na buksan ang balikbayan box na pinaghirapan nating inipon bago natin naipadala sa pamilya natin. bubuksan lang nila na kala m cla ang nghirap.nanakawin pa yong ibang laman. di naman libre ,binayaran natin yan bago pinadala.
