This petition is to create awareness about the open burning issues in Malaysia and to request for immediate attention and action from Prime Minister of Malaysia Dato' Sri Haji Mohammad Najib bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment YB Datuk Seri G. Palanivel and other fellow ministers.
Dear Malaysian,
We have suffered enough from the haze. Yes, you can blame it on the other country for doing this to us, you can blame it on the other government for not doing enough. BUT are we doing enough in our homeland? Think again.
Open burning in Johan Setia, Klang has been quite well known these days. The nearby residents are fighting against it since 2008 but still, no concrete solution is provided nor improvement to the condition. The people of Klang have suffered for too much and for too long. We as fellow Malaysian must stand up for them, to demand ACTION and SOLUTION to stop open burning in Johan Setia for once and for all!
We should also make sure that Malaysians are not practising open burning in our own backyard before pointing our fingers at other country. We want to remind our Prime Minister of Malaysia Dato' Sri Haji Mohammad Najib bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment YB Datuk Seri G. Palanivel and other ministers that it is their responsibility as leaders to solve the open burning issues in Malaysia diligently and responsibly.
I believe clean air is a basic human right. What do you believe in?

The volume of support has reached a level that allows us to secure a formal meeting with the Department of Environment next week. We are currently finalizing our documentation on the specific hotspots in Johan Setia to present during this session. Further updates will follow once the discussion concludes.

I hope the State and Federal Government will provide advice for alternative solution to the open burning. And not to hesitate to take legal action against those who break the law. Just like Dengue,the haze problem is a serious health issue to our Malaysians

Who are we to complain about Indonesia's open burning when our government can't even control open burning issues like this in our own country? Stop open burning!
