Northern Pulp should be closed down. Period. What they are doing to our environment is absolutely unacceptable. Not only should they not be allowed to spray with a chemical that is well documented to cause too many life-threatening conditions to mention, their emissions are killing the people of Pictou County. Highest cancer rates in the province and they are continually pumping particulate into the air. Half of downtown Pictou businesses have closed their doors. When are lives and good health going to be more important than foreign owned business/profit???

This is sickening. I know a man who was working in the woods when this vision chemical was sprayed over the woods he was working in without warning. He had severe eye problems as well as severe respetory complications and laid on his death bed in discomfort and burning for months. They should have to pay money to properly dispose of their chemicals not dump it on wildlife.

For those that don't know. It's used as a herbicide (like Monsanto's 'RoundUp'), to kill plants. It is not selective, and will kill nearly any plant. (Why a Pulp/Paper company would use this to begin with, I don't know.) There are lots of studies done, but there is also a lot of contradictory information out there about what it does to people, plants, animals etc. Don't take my word for it, go look it up yourselves. Ultimately, My vote is NO.

no Spray. NP is the worst polluter in NS. Have they even met the standards imposed by govt last year. For the number of actual people employed they damage the health of thousands.
