Do not ruin our air, water, and land. Find a new way to create our economy. This is horrible, permanent destruction. Millions in tax rev. and some jobs are not worth it.

Phosphate mining is very bad for the environment. It is strip mining which endangers plants, animals, water and ruins the soil for years. As stewards of the earth, we should ban phosphate mining for good.

Citizens should be prepared for a class-action lawsuit against the Board of Manatee County Commissioners if the Mosaic permits are issued and the rezoning from agricultural to phosphate mining is approved. Not since Long Bar Pointe have I witnessed such an overwhelming consensus of the destruction that phosphate mining would bring to our beloved Manatee County. Thousands of emails and letters have been submitted to the board of county commissioners in opposition to Mosaic and phosphate mining. Overwhelming evidence, from all walks of life, testified against Mosaic in not only their mining practices before the board but that the land once mined can never be reclaimed to its original state. Let’s hope that the commissioners see through the smoke and mirrors of Mosaic’s presentation and listen to the citizens of Manatee County not only for this generation but for generations to come. I can't believe this is even being discussed as a possibility. We are the stewards of this land, our home. The health of we humans and our environment are intricately connected. We cannot continue to rape the land for short term "gains" . Tourism will come to a halt when this turns into a wasteland. Please allow our children to have a future and not allow this to happen.

I live in Sarasota and am firmly against Mosaic;s attempt to expand their destructive, poisonous phosphate mining operation.

Please do not allow the continued destruction of the land in northeast Manatee County, as well as the potential for contamination of our aquifer. Thank you for your consideration.

As a voting resident of Manatee County, I strongly oppose Mosaic's request to expand phosphate mining in Manatee. Thank you for making the health and long-term sustainability of our community your top priority in considering this issue.
