Sri lanka is supposed to be a country with a long history of "Ahimsa" meaning "compassion to all and non-violent" but inspite of all this, authorities have resorted to inhumanly removing and killing the innocent voiceless beings when there are so many humane methods to follow. I am totally against this barbaric practice.

This is totally an inhuman act of cruel people. They do not represent general public. We do not want the animals to be killed just because the government and its authorities have failed to control the stray population in an effective and efficient way without killing them. They have no right to take lives of these innocent animals.

Sri Lanka is a country with lots of animal abuse (ironically so called a Buddhist country).
Current government encourages animal cruelty by not taking any action against this mass killings of dogs and cats.
This needs to be stopped.

This is despicable! For a Buddhist country to be murdering inncocent lives like we are the sole entities that need to live on this planet is utterly disgusting and disgraceful! I'm ashamed to be a Sri Lankan because of what the government has let slid! Is this how we treat those without a voice? Is this what's going to happen to the mute, disabled and handicapped? The only reason this is happening is because humans think we're better than other species that can't express their thoughts or feelings. Instead of ending lives, there should be laws put in place to hold humans accountable for their actions of abusing and mistreating animals. And lack there of which ends up in a lot of puppies being dumped on the streets. If we consider ourselves "high" enough to decide when a live should start or end, I think we can also be held responsible for how we purposefully mistreat a "lower species". This needs to stop! We are definitely capable of a lot more good than harm, and if can channel that to better such as having EVERY pet resgistered, and breeders taxed- we wouldn't be in such a conundrum.
