The smaller independent shops / businesses which bring the uniqueness to Southsea are slowly being being strangled into closure by not only the sterile multi-conglomerates but also by the greed of property landlords and city councils alike.

The beauty of Southsea is that traditionally it has been largely been made up of independent stores. please keep this characteristic.

The character of Southsea is in serious danger of being severely compromised.....we must support our Independant traders. The voices of Southsea must be heard in this matter!!

I understand Akram Stores in Palmerston Road may have to close due to reduced takings following pedestrianisation. This should not be allowed to happen.
(It wouldn't let me write anymore) just wanted to add that the best service is always from a independent business and too many are being bullied by landlords and greedy councils

Support our independent businesses, we have so much to lose with the dockyard closing. These big stores can come and go as they please but we need to hold on to the local
