Stop the Mission Heights Development of 2,400 Homes on the Banning Bench

Don’t build save Banning.

I’m usually supportive of new development—housing, stores, warehouses, you name it—but after looking into this project, it’s clear that it won’t benefit the area. That land is in a high fire zone, and I’ve heard from a close friend who lives nearby that endangered species are present there. After driving up and seeing the beauty of the area myself, I think it would be a real shame to lose it to development. I’ve never signed a petition against a project before, but this property should not be built on—it should be preserved as state land or protected in some way.

The Banning Bench area is very rural. It allows lots wildlife to thrive. This area is always prone to wildfires that typically happen every year. I live nearby and have seen firsthand what those fires do. Also, where are we going to get enough water for all of the new residents without affecting those of us who have lived here for many years. The lack off infrastructure to help offset the increased traffic needs to be addressed. There are not enough businesses to sustain the community as well like medical, shopping, etc. Please reconsider this development from happening. We don't have enough resources. Thank you.

I’m tired of seeing this town destroyed by greed. Not all cities need to become an orange county. Bigger is not always better.

It’s just gonna make the roads too and from the Bng Bench very dangerous. Another reason not to mass build their. It’ll destroy the beautiful land. I love driving through just for the peaceful ambience and scenery.

Wtf? Why dose the city even bother with such stupidity? Let’s build homes in a rural community take away home to wildlife etc. oh yea and the next fire the whole bench will burn down along with “mission heights” because I’d like to know how everyone is going to evacuate? Just a disaster waiting to happen. Or let’s say developers run out of money? Now we have housing for homeless for about 2 months tell they burn it all down soon there will be no city of banning it will be Los Angeles. I can believe how the city is and there developments that will “help” the city it’s bs I mean the sunset cross roads was a stupid idea! Why build warehouses in that spot? We need stores in the spot! Why? Because there is so much homeless that cause so much fires in that area! I think we need to investigate the planning commission and the city council! Because now this truly pisses me off! I live in poppet flats but I would sure hate to have that much homes in my neighborhood! And my view of the bench is awesome I would hate to see 2400 homes. Please we really need to investigate the planning commission and city council this is upsetting!

Development of this cultural sensitive area is not what I am in favor for . Preserve Banning rural areas .

Please!! Don't over-develop the Pass! Atwell and all that was enough!

No buildings, leave a peaceful place to those that still love the country life.

I own property on the bench and don’t want to see it destroyed by the building of 2,400 houses.
