Napoleon had a 7-year-old admiral and an 8-year-old general, the people who run some of these schools must have their heads stuck so far up what will never see daylight

Mandatory housing is a terrible idea. The location is bad, the building cannot possibly be structurally sound, and possible sanitary at all. Also, to place people mandatory living their and in Vallejo is such an unsafe, ultimately for the well being of the students. Moves such as this one goes against the spirit of the CSU . May I also add that the Dish Room washing machine in the Dining Center has been inoperable since October of 2017 and is still inoperable today. From workers int he dining center, may not be worked on for months due to complications with contractors outside. If this is one example of how CMA fails to effectively fix a problem, I can only imagine how screwed future cadets are. This issues is yet another example of Cal Maritime incoherence and ineffective leadership failing to provide the future maritime leaders examples of how to run a proper institution.

There are pictures and videos that have been shown the the school. We are reassured we have the best dining services available and still the most appetizing meal was a bowl of cereal.

How about you focus on cooking chicken all the way and keeping bugs out of your salads before you tell me I’m not allowed to live off campus anymore.

SUNY stands with you. Put up with the BS a little longer and get out of there. 30 demerits is in poor taste.

Forcing cadets onto campus is absurd and does not look out for students best interests. Students should be trusted to make their own decisions on where they want to live and how they want to spend their money.

Even though this petition has been extremely successful, I still like it won’t change how the housing staff feels about our well being. They simply wish to maximize the amount of money they can drain from us. Maybe students could come together and disregard corps responsibilites such as uniforms, formation, grooming standards, etc until our demands are met. If enough students participated, they couldn’t issue them all demerits.

As an alumn if this school, it’s an absolute embarrassment to see threats made against students over this. I hope the people threatening students for signing this are dealt with by being fired.

Requiring all students to live on campus regardless of their year in school is not best for EVERY student. Some of them have different needs and priorities.
