Many schools are beginning to make students conform to tedious aspects of their uniform policy after a long time of ignoring them, which is resulting in more harm than good. For my friend, doing something like taking out a piercing can cause her bodily harm. St Thomas More High School in North Shields is one of these schools. This petition is to show this school and others like it, that we should focus less on piercings and more on things such as bullying (by their students), underage drinking (also by their students) and hate crimes (again, also by their students). More and more work places are accepting ‘eccentric’ hair, piercings or obvious tattoos as the norm so schools pressuring people into removing barely noticeable piercings is outdated and wrong.
